Why several photos help
Many LEGO® pieces look alike from one side. A 1 × 2 brick and a 1 × 2 plate have the same outline from above; only the side view shows the height. That is why BrickVision™ uses one overhead photo for size and side photos for height, then compares shape, outline and color with the built-in catalogue.
The same piece is matched across all the photos, and the clearest view decides. Unsure views are left out instead of being averaged in.
Checking a suggestion
- Tap the piece in the results list.
- Look at your own photos of it from each angle, side by side with the catalogue picture.
- If it is not right, pick one of the other likely matches shown below it.
- Save. Your collection keeps the corrected piece.
Tips for tricky pieces
- Lay the piece flat the way it naturally rests, and keep it apart from others.
- Plates and tiles lie flat; take a low side photo so their height shows clearly.
- Printed, unusual or rare pieces may need a second look at the other matches.
- Unusual pieces are also great clues for working out which set a mixed bin came from.
