Is there an app that can scan LEGO® bricks?
Yes. Brick Finder includes BrickVision™, a LEGO® brick scanner. You photograph a tray of loose LEGO® bricks from above and from a few angles, and the app finds the pieces, suggests what each one is, with its LEGO® part number and color, and adds them to your collection after you check them.
Can I scan a pile of loose LEGO® bricks?
Yes. Pour the bricks onto a tray or a flat surface, spread them out, take one photo straight down and then 3 or 4 photos from the sides. BrickVision™ puts a box on every piece it finds and suggests a name, LEGO® part number and color for each. You check the list before it is saved.
Read the full answerHow does BrickVision™ identify LEGO® pieces?
It combines several clues instead of trusting one photo. The overhead photo finds each piece and measures its size, the side photos show its height, and the shape, outline and color are compared with the built-in catalogue. The same piece is matched across views, and the surest view decides.
Can Brick Finder recognize LEGO® pieces by shape and size?
Yes. Shape and size are two of its main clues. The overhead photo gives the size in studs, the side photos show whether a piece is a brick, a plate or a tile, and the outline helps tell slopes, rounds and special pieces apart. Color is checked as well.
Does scanning work with a crowded tray?
Yes, but spread-out pieces give better results. Crowded trays work, and pieces of different colors that touch are kept apart, but pieces that hide under others are harder to see. If you can, spread the bricks out in a single layer and add side photos.
How long does a scan take?
Scan time depends on your phone or tablet, the number of pieces, how crowded the tray is, and the scan settings. Smaller, spread-out batches are easier to review. Keep the app open while scanning and review the suggested matches before saving your collection.
Do I need the printed Brick Finder sheet to scan?
No, the sheet is not required. For best results, use the printed Brick Finder sheet: it gives the app a known size and color reference. Without it, use a plain, flat, matte surface in soft, even light, and spread the pieces out.
How can I identify an unknown LEGO® piece?
Scan it with BrickVision™, together with other pieces or on its own. You do not need to know the part number first. The app suggests a name, LEGO® part number and color, shows other likely matches, and lets you look at the piece up close from every angle before you choose.

Is there a virtual 3D LEGO® building app?
Yes. Brick Studio™ in Brick Finder lets you watch 1,800+ 3D builds assemble brick by brick (Watch it) and build your own models in 3D with 15,500+ parts in any color (Build it). You can also try Brick Studio™ free in your web browser for a limited time.
Read the full answerWhat is Brick Studio™?
Brick Studio™ is the 3D building part of Brick Finder. It has the Set Library of 1,800+ 3D builds, Watch it to see a model build itself, Build it to make your own creations, and step-by-step building instructions for library builds that you can save as a PDF or print.
How many 3D LEGO® builds are included?
Brick Studio™ includes 1,800+ 3D builds, including alternate builds and smaller models. That is separate from the catalogue of 21,800+ official LEGO® sets, which you can search and compare with your bricks.
Can I watch LEGO® sets build themselves in 3D?
Yes. Pick a model in the Set Library, press play, and it assembles itself one piece at a time. You can pause, step through it, change the speed and turn the model to see every side.
Can I print LEGO® building instructions from Brick Finder?
Yes, for the 1,800+ 3D builds in the Set Library. Open a build, tap Instructions in the More menu, and Brick Finder makes a full step-by-step manual right on your phone, with the parts for each step. Save it as a PDF or print it.
Read the full answerDo I need to own the bricks to use Brick Studio™?
No. You can watch any of the 1,800+ 3D builds and build your own creations with unlimited bricks in any color, without owning a single piece. If you have scanned your collection, Brick Finder can also show what you can build from it.
Is Brick Studio™ like Blender for LEGO® building?
Not really. Blender is general 3D software for any kind of model. Brick Studio™ is made only for building bricks: you snap real LEGO® part shapes together, watch sets build step by step and make instructions. It is much simpler to learn, but it is not a general 3D modelling or rendering tool.

What is the best way to organize a large LEGO® collection?
Sort by type first, not by color: bricks, plates, tiles, slopes, Technic and special pieces. Keep minifigures and printed pieces apart. Then scan tray by tray with BrickVision™ so every piece lands in a digital inventory you can search.
Read the full answerCan I make a digital inventory of my LEGO® collection?
Yes. Every scan can be saved as a new collection or added to one you already have. You can also add the sets you own by typing a set number. Every part is pictured in its real color, and you can review and correct the counts.
What can I build with the LEGO® bricks I already own?
Brick Finder compares your collection with 21,800+ official LEGO® sets and ranks them by the share of pieces you already have. You see the sets you can build now, the ones that are only a few pieces away, and exactly which pieces are missing.
Read the full answerHow do I find out which sets are mixed together in a bin?
Scan the bin a tray at a time and save the pieces together. Brick Finder ranks the sets whose pieces best match your bin, so the top matches show which sets the pieces probably came from. Unusual, printed or specially colored pieces are strong clues.
Can I rebuild old LEGO® sets from loose bricks?
Yes. Scan your loose bricks, see which sets they match, and pick one. Brick Finder shows the pieces you are missing, the 3D build to watch for 1,800+ sets, and step-by-step instructions you can save as a PDF.
Read the full answerCan Brick Finder tell me which LEGO® pieces I am missing?
Yes. Pick a set and you see the pieces you still need, pictured and counted, in the right part and color. When you are online you can order them from LEGO® Pick a Brick or BrickLink.
How many LEGO® sets does Brick Finder include?
Brick Finder includes 21,800+ official LEGO® sets and 17,000+ minifigures, built into the app so you can search them offline. Separately, Brick Studio™ has 1,800+ builds in 3D.
Do I need to sort my bricks by color before scanning?
No. Mixed colors are fine, and different colors touching each other actually help the scanner tell pieces apart. What matters more is spreading pieces out so they do not overlap.
Pricing & Offline
What Brick Finder costs, what is included, and what works without internet.
How much does Brick Finder cost?

Exact prices can vary by store and country. Check the price, billing period, taxes and offer availability shown at checkout before buying.
Is the launch membership priced per year, not per month?
